Andrea Donahue is a 3L at Stanford Law School. At SLS, she has acted as Vice President of the Black Law Students Association (BLSA), Academic Chair of the Women of Color Collective, and a Graduate Member of the Stanford University Nominations Commission. She is a research assistant for Professor Beth Van Schaack, former deputy to the U.S. Ambassador for war crimes. While in law school, Andrea has volunteered for the International Refugee Assistance Project (IRAP), the Stanford Public Interest Law Foundation Auction, and the Record Clearance Project. Andrea studied history at Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota. During her time at Carleton, she was a Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellow, and she studied abroad in Cameroon through the School for International Training’s Development & Social Change program.

Prior to law school, Andrea worked for Codman Academy Charter Public School in Dorchester, Massachusetts as the Director of Annual Giving in their development department. She also spent a year of service in AmeriCorps, working at HandsOn Twin Cities in Minnesota. During law school, Andrea spent her 1L summer in a judicial externship for Chief Judge Patti Saris of the Massachusetts federal district court. For her 2L summer, she interned in the Community Lawyering & Civil Rights Unit of the Oakland City Attorney’s Office. Next year, Andrea will be working as a Deputy County Counsel through the Michael P. Murphy Public Law Fellowship at the Office of the County Counsel for San Mateo County. Andrea entered law school with the hope of becoming a public interest lawyer and serving local communities, and she is very excited to pursue a career in local government.
