Born in San Clemente, CA, Daisy is a first-generation law student whose own experience in the juvenile justice system sparked her interest in becoming a public defender. Her involvement in community driven cases as a Legal Assistant intern for the Public Defender’s Office and as a Justice Committee member in a grassroots organization, Chican@s Unidos de OC, in which she is involved in participatory defense, add to the significance in research and collaboration she believes is needed to make changes in the criminal justice system.

She is also a UCLA Law Fellow, where she was provided with access to support and mentorship in preparation for a career in law. She graduated Cum Laude from UC Irvine with a BA in History and Minor in Philosophy, and is currently pursuing her JD at Western State College of Law. After law school, she plans to work as a public defender in hopes of leaving a long-lasting impact by focusing on juvenile cases and helping to provide representation for economically disadvantaged youth.
