Hailing from a family of farm workers, David’s grandparents were guest-workers under the Bracero Program and his parents continue to work in agriculture as farm workers. In a family of seven, David overcame several socioeconomic and cultural hurdles throughout high school by focusing on his academics and extracurricular activities along with the moral support of parents. As a first-generation American and first-generation college student, David successfully graduated from the University of California, Riverside. David later obtained a paralegal position with the United Farm Workers of America (UFW) and began fighting for farm worker rights using the law.

David is seeking a law degree to continue to assist farm workers in their plight for justice. More specifically, he plans to work alongside farm workers to bring changes in the discriminatory laws and regulations currently set in place. David hopes to work for either the federal or state government to ensure farm worker rights. David is pursuing his JD at UC Hastings College of Law.
