Hailing from a family of farm workers, David’s grandparents were guest-workers under the Bracero Program and his parents continue to work in agriculture as farm workers. In a family of seven, David overcame several socioeconomic and cultural hurdles throughout high school by focusing on his academics and extracurricular activities along with the moral support of parents. As a first-generation American and first-generation college student, David successfully graduated from the University of California, Riverside. David later obtained a paralegal position with the United Farm Workers of America (UFW) and began fighting for farm worker rights using the law.
