Hana’s professional, academic, and extracurricular experiences have exposed her to society’s structural inequalities and have reaffirmed her commitment to using the law as a tool to promote social justice. After her first year at Harvard Law School, Hana worked for the Legal Aid Foundation of Los Angeles, where she helped indigent Angelenos with housing law and family law matters. She also volunteered at Harvard’s Housing Law Clinic where she gained invaluable experience with the Housing Justice for Survivors Project, which allowed her to represent clients threatened with illegal evictions after surviving incidents of domestic violence.

Most recently, Hana worked for Public Counsel’s Homelessness Prevention Project. Over the course of three months, she advocated on behalf of hundreds of applicants in the Department of Public Social Services offices across Los Angeles County who were being denied benefits. She strategized case solutions with her team and took part in negotiations with DPSS officials in order to achieve each applicant’s optimal outcome. After graduation, she would like to return to Southern California so that she can give back to the community she comes from.
