Nneka Jackson law school journey is one that is quite unique. As a Howard University Alum, she has learned that no matter the obstacles are thrown your way it is never ok to give up. Ms. Jackson was born and raised in Long Island, NY to two devoting and hardworking parents. As one of six children she always felt the need to be able to make her family and community proud. Ms. Jackson began her law school journey at The Charlotte School of Law, in Charlotte, North Carolina. While at Charlotte she was at the top of her class ranking in the top 10%, a member of the Order of the Crown Honor Society, Dean’s List, Merit Scholar, and Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity. During her first year of law school, she interned with two different law firms, Phillips & McCrea and Civil Rights Activist Julius Chambers civil rights law firm Ferguson, Chambers & Sumter. That summer Ms. Jackson was able to use all of her knowledge gained during her first year of law school to assist multiple clients on various matters from family to criminal to civil rights law.

After finishing her first year off strong Ms. Jackson decided to make the move to Los Angeles and transferred to Loyola Law School. During her first year at Loyola she finished off at the top of her class, was able to intern for a Federal Judge in Downtown LA, work for the Federal Public Defenders Capital Habeas Unit working to help clients that were on Death Row get a lighter sentence and at Fischbach & Fischbach, a civil litigation firm in Beverly Hills. As an African American woman, Ms. Jackson always understood the importance of an education and being able to uplift and teach those in the black community. That is why she has dedicated her time in law school to various organizations that help the African American youth such as Teen Court and the Juvenile Justice Program. Ms. Jackson is honored and blessed to receive a scholarship from the California Association of Black Lawyers Judge Benjamin Travis and Judge David F. Cunningham Founders Scholarship. This scholarship will help her cover her bar expenses as she prepares to take the California State Bar.
