Born in Mexico City, Mexico, Oscar migrated to Sacramento, California with his family at the age of five. However, in 2008, Oscar and his mother were both deported to Mexico for being undocumented. He quickly adapted to his new reality, dedicated his own-self to improving his native language skills and reconnecting with his extended family. He eventually returned when he qualified for a visa, receiving his BA in Public Policy with interdisciplinary honors in Democracy, Development, and the Rule of Law from Stanford University.

He intends to zealously advocate on behalf of immigrant communities, so they may in turn, make the United States a better place for everyone. In pursuit of these goals, Oscar is currently an MPP/JD concurrent degree candidate at Harvard Kennedy School of Government and UC Berkeley School of Law. After law school, Oscar plans to pursue a fellowship/attorney position at the ACLU Immigrant’s Rights Project.
