Zherong Kang

Zherong Kang is a third-year law student at Washington and Lee University School of Law. He recently completed a ChangeLawyers℠ summer legal fellowship hosted at Legal Services of Northern California in Ukiah, CA. At law school, Zherong is a Senior Articles Editor of the German Law Journal and a research assistant for a comparative study between Chinese human rights lawyers and American civil rights lawyers.
 



Before law school, Zherong was a program assistant at American Bar Association Rule of Law Initiative’s Beijing office, where he worked with lawyers and civil society organizations in China, promoting legal development in areas such as environmental protection, criminal defense, and LGBT rights advocacy. He had also interned at Bank Information Center on World Bank’s transparency initiatives and spent time at United Nations Development Programme on governance and rule of law projects in China. 
 
Zherong has a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics and International Affairs and a Master of Arts degree in International Development Studies, both from the George Washington University.
